We are hiring a visiting lecturer for Welsh

31.10.2019

The Department of Linguistics hires a visiting lecturer for teaching two courses during the summer semester
(1 March – 30 June 2020):

– a course in modern spoken Welsh (1 unit of 90 minutes per week);

– a lecture course on the grammar of modern Welsh (1 unit of 90 minutes per week).

Each course is to be held weekly for the duration of the whole semester (i.e., 14 units of 90 minutes per week for each course). If lecturers find themselves unable to stay for the whole semester, it is basically possible to compress the 14 units into a shorter period, but preference will be given to those who are present for the whole semester.

Lecturers are expected to have native-speaker (or near native-speaker) competence in modern Welsh and to be able to teach the language to speakers with no previous experience in modern Celtic languages.

Payment follows the wage scale for Austrian universities but may vary slightly according to the teaching experience of the individual lecturer.

Questions concerning details, and applications (including a CV and a list of previous teaching experience) should be directed to stefan.schumacher@univie.ac.at and should arrive there no later than 30 November 2019.
